Senior Architect
Alex is a Senior Chartered Architect who has a strong passion for architecture and creating high quality user focused buildings. He has a deep interest in working with existing historic buildings, spaces and places and is excellent at building effective client-architect relationships.
After studying at the Lincoln School of Architecture for his undergraduate course, Alex’s interest in conservation started whilst studying for his Diploma at the Oxford School of Architecture. Here, his studies included the International Architecture Regeneration and Development specialism and focusing on the reuse and adaptation of existing buildings.
His varied career has included working for several award-winning architectural practices. As a result he has a wide knowledge of traditional and modern architecture, along with a portfolio including a range of residential, commercial and civic projects. He joined Pritchard Architecture, having recently completed a large scale restoration of a Grade I listed building, bringing it back into use after 30 years of vacancy and many years on Historic England’s ‘Buildings at Risk Register’.
Alex is committed to enhancing the profession, and has previously been a member of the RIBA Council, RIBA Validation Panel and several RIBA committees. He is also a former chairman of Lin.Con Lincoln Architecture Society, a current committee member of his local civic society and a former judge for a number of prestigious architecture awards. As well as enhancing the profession, Alex is keen to widen access through opportunity and is a mentor to future architects both within practice and outside, through the RIBA Future Architect Mentoring Scheme, which he has taken part in for a number of years. Alex regularly takes part in Mock Interviews at the University of Portsmouth, and has previously been a visiting critic at Loughborough University.
